The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community is hosting its Tenth Annual Building Information Modeling (BIM) Awards competition. The competition is seeking projects that exhibit exemplary use of integrated and interoperable building information modeling. The 2014 BIM Awards is open to all professionals (owners, architects, engineers, contractors, facility managers) and academic institutions. International submissions are welcome. The Tenth BIM Awards Call for Entries builds upon the innovative responses received for previous award winners in 2005-2013.
This year’s BIM Awards are collaborating with AIA Knowledge Communities to broaden the perspective and outreach within the AIA.
The BIMForum leadership and members are actively providing their expertise, insights and outreaching prowess to help make the 2014 BIM Awards the best ever.
The Construction Owners Association of America continues in the 2014 BIM Awards program as an industry partner, participating in the Process Innovation category of submissions.
The International Facilities Managers Association participates again this year in the BIM Awards Program and will continue to focus on Category F: Exemplary Use of BIM For Facility Management | Operations.
Submissions will be evaluated by the Jury for consideration in any and all categories.
Award winning projects may be recognized in AIA publications and electronic media, and also at the BIM Awards presentation prior to the 2014 AIA National Convention in Chicago.
Category B finalists and other submissions selected by BIMFORUM are expected to present their submissions, in-person or virtually, during the 2014 Spring BIMForum to compete for the “Professional’s Choice” Awards.
In addition, select Category B Award Finalists and other submissions selected by COAA will be required to present their submissions, in-person or virtually, during a Spring 2014 COAA event to compete for the “Owners Choice” Awards. These presentations may also serve as a presentation to the 2014 BIM Awards Jury for the “Delivery Process Innovation” Awards.
Category F finalists and other submissions selected by IFMA may be invited to present their submissions, in-person or virtually, during a 2014 Spring IFMA event to compete for the “Facility Manager’s Choice” Awards. These presentations may also serve as a presentation to the 2014 BIM Awards Jury for the “Exemplary use of BIM in Facility Management | Operations” Awards.
