2018 College Board Counselor Recognition Program
The College Board will launch its first Counselor Recognition Program (CRP) in concert with the Orange County, California, Education Department. The program will recognize exemplary counselors and showcase how they are making a difference in creating opportunities for all students.

NEW SUBMISSION DEADLINE: All applications must be completed by Friday, January 12th at 11:59 pm EST.
Finalists will be notified in January, 2018.


Eligibility Requirement
In order for applicants to be eligible for the College Board Counselor Recognition Program they must meet the following criteria: Selection Criteria
The applicant demonstrates leadership and advocacy in school counseling practices, initiatives and programs focused on increasing equity in K–12 college and career readiness outcomes, especially for underrepresented populations, in the school or district.

The applicant demonstrates leadership in the areas of developing and coordinating collaborative partnerships (K–12 and college access professionals, higher education and nonprofit professionals, business and civic leaders, policymakers and legislators, parent and families, elementary and middle schools, and other supporters) that help increase access and equity in college and career readiness, especially in underrepresented populations.

The applicant demonstrates strategies and programs that encourage parent and family involvement that focuses on college and career readiness.

The applicant demonstrates proficient use of data that impacts college and career efforts that show outcomes for students from underrepresented populations.

The applicant demonstrates consistent professional development that focuses on college and career readiness.

High school counselors doing creative, unique, or innovative work toward advancing students’ academic preparation necessary to be successful in a variety of postsecondary options and beyond are strongly encouraged to apply by logging into the Counselor Recognition Program Application Abstract Scorecard.
