Abstract Selection Process
All abstracts submitted are subjected to an objective, blinded peer review and are evaluated on quality of the project/research, content, and relevance to the field of vascular access. All entries will be notified of selection or rejection by May 8th via email.
Complete Guidelines for Poster Display Preparation can be found at
www.avainfo.org/Guidelines. A few of the major points to consider:
- Posters must be complete and submitted electronically by August 3rd in the PowerPoint template format provided.
- Posters submitted will be blinded and judged prior to the Annual Scientific Meeting.
- Poster size is standardized to 6 feet wide x 3 feet tall. No other sizes will be displayed. (AVA is considering using ePostersBoards to display posters onsite this year. You will be given more information about this when you submit your abstract, as well as will be asked if you are interested in this option).
- Authors will have an opportunity to add/change pending data after poster has been submitted for judging and prior to printing.
Complete Guidelines for Oral Presentation can be found at
www.avainfo.org/Guidelines. Authors will be notified of their assigned presentation time in an acceptance letter, via email. Authors selected must be registered for the Scientific Meeting on the day of the Breakout Session Presentation. Each presenter will have 10 minutes to provide a PowerPoint presentation; and 5 minutes will be allowed to take questions from the audience. Presentations should avoid any semblance of commercialism.
Awards
Posters will be judged from the electronic file submitted prior to the meeting. These files will be blinded, peer reviewed and evaluated on the quality of the poster, content, and relevance to the field of vascular access. The winners will be announced and presented with a certificate at the Annual Scientific Meeting. During the meeting attendees will be able to participate in voting for the “Peoples Choice” award. This award will be announced after the Scientific Meeting on the AVA website and E-VAN.
