Presented by AIA San Francisco and the Center for Architecture + Design, Architecture + the City (September 1-30) is one of the nation's largest architectural festivals of its kind. Taking place in San Francisco every September, the month-long celebration features behind the scenes and walking tours, films, exhibitions, lectures and more that address varying aspects of the design and planning process. Over 40 programs throughout the month provide an excellent opportunity for participants to engage with the local architecture community and experience design in a myriad of ways throughout the city.

This year's theme, "Future City", has motivated visionary architects and designers for centuries and have created architectural works that have in turn inspired generations of young designers and urban thinkers. From autonomous vehicles to equitable neighborhood designs, this year’s Architecture + the City Festival celebrates a re-imagined San Francisco with the theme, “Future City”. Through compelling programs we will seek to address contemporary challenges by boldly imagining and defining the future conditions of the city.
