OR Manager is seeking proposals for the 2019 OR Business Management Conference being held January 27-30, 2019 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in San Diego, CA. This conference is designed to help OR executives, surgical services directors, and business managers develop the skills and tools they need to increase efficiencies, effectively manage teams and meet revenue goals, all while keeping the patient experience top of mind.
Each breakout session will be 60 minutes long; 45 minutes of presentation time and 15 minutes for Q&A with the audience. Each session must include a take home tool to be downloaded by the audience.
Each session allows for two presenters. Additional speakers can register for the conference at a reduced rate.
Please remember that your presentation should not be a sales pitch for products or services. Audience feedback has been negative whenever sessions have emphasized a company’s capabilities rather actual results and actions attendees can use in their home setting.
In past years, we have received well over 100 submissions for only 35 session slots. Be concise, be creative and innovative and remember these presentations should be new perspectives for the industry, not retreads of concepts everyone already knows.

- Fundamentals of reimbursement
- Capital equipment strategies
- Budgeting strategies
- Integrating value-based payment models
- Using predictive data analytics
- Matching staffing to demand
- Leveraging cost-saving initiatives
- Streamlining inventory
- Budgeting for design & construction
- Adding new service lines
- Strengthening partnerships with clinicians
In addition to 60-minute proposals, We are also accepting proposals for a pre-conference workshop. The topic should fill a 3-hour period and small-group problem-solving exercises are encouraged.
