It is to be awarded to a member of the Institute in good standing who has made a significant contributions to the mineral economics field in Canada.

Purpose
The Robert Elver Mineral Economics Award was created and approved by CIM Council in 1981, at the request of the Mineral Economics Society of CIM, to commemorate the memory of the late Dr. Robert Elver. It is to be awarded to a member of the Institute in good standing who has made a significant contributions to the mineral economics field in Canada.
