Scientific Poster and Podium Presentation applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Annual Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACA) being held October 17-21, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, GA. Click here to learn more about the Annual Clinical Assembly.

Poster Applications must be submitted no later than: June 29, 2018.

Please read the Poster Rules and Regulations before completing the online application, this information will NOT be mailed to you. One application must be submitted for each poster abstract and there is a limit of two posters submissions per presenter. An application fee of $25 per poster is required.

The ACA Scientific Exhibits and Poster Sessions Committee will review all completed poster application submissions. Applicants will be notified on or by August 14, 2018 if their poster and/or podium presentation has been accepted. If accepted for a podium presentation, it should include a short PowerPoint presentation (approximately 10 minutes to include PowerPoint and Q&A). A specific time and additional guidelines regarding your presentation will be included in the acceptance letter from the committee. If you do not wish to have your abstract reviewed for a possible podium presentation, please indicate this in the online application.

Required sections of the application include:

• Introduction/Purpose
• Methods or Case Description
• Outcomes
• Conclusion

Research must be complete: Poster applications will only be accepted if research is complete. Applications in full must be submitted by June 29th. Abstracts will not be reviewed for poster presentations if research is not complete by June 29th.

Resident Training Requirements: For residents, whose training is evaluated by the ACOS, and with the approval of their training program director, preparation of a poster session for the ACA may be done in order to meet the annual report requirements for a scholarly activity for the current training year. Refer to the residency training requirements on the ACOS website for details.

Awards: The ACA Scientific Exhibits and Poster Sessions Committee will judge the posters and podium presentations presented at the ACA. ACOS may elect to award cash prizes for each surgical specialty for both the poster presentations and the podium presentations. You must be an ACOS member to qualify for an award.

Tips for completing the online application: Please make sure your entries are accurate – information for accepted abstracts will be included in the ACA onsite conference materials, as submitted. You can copy and paste sections of your abstract into the online form. Note that the maximum word count is 275 words total.
