SPiNCon 2015

November 15-17, 2015

Description:
Following the success of SPiNCon 2014’s theme re:INSPIRE, SPiNCon 2015 will continue delving deeper into your BRAIN, BODY, and BEING.

ABOUT SPiNCON

SPiNCon is the only conference for planners with 10 years of experience or more, and where planners outnumber suppliers two-to-one. It's a very informal conference that has been described as intimate, casual, comfortable, and like a big family. We drop our pretenses and the need to impress, and we settle in to a really amazing three days of soaking up ideas, helping one another, and leaving re-inspired. This year's conference will take that vibe to a whole new level as we seek to address the whole person and give them solutions to achieve work/life balance in whatever way is important to them.

DEMOGRAPHICS

SPiN is comprised of 36% independent/third party planners, 34% corporate, 22% association, and the remainder are government, pharma, special event, and other segments. We typically seek targeted sessions that appeal to the largest three segments of our membership, and sessions with general appeal for all types of planners. Our members are 90% women, and we average 20 years of planner experience.

BRAIN sessions - Are the senior-level courses we've come to be known for at SPiNCon. These are typically on industry-related topics - courses that qualify for clock hours will take priority, but we will still consider strong sessions that do not. Many of our participants own their own businesses. We also seek courses that will encourage the 61% of our membership who are corporate, association, government, pharma and other planner segments.

BODY sessions - We're seeking sessions on body-related topics during the day, as well as sessions that move our bodies in the mornings and evenings. These sessions will help us address stress, the mind-body connection, fitness, and overall well-being. Zumba? Yoga? Dance? Running? Bring it on.

BEING sessions - These sessions will address the mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of our participants. Topics like empty nests, aging parents, letting go, saying no, dealing with addictions, meditation, vision boards, journaling - these are the types of topics that we're seeking for the BEING track.

SESSION TYPES

We'll have a mix of session types and lengths. Many of our sessions will be Circles, which are informal discussions on a topic, facilitated by a discussion leader (this is how the majority of BEING sessions will be held). Some sessions will be in more traditional learning environments. Session lengths can vary from 20-90 minutes.

SELECTION CRITERIA

We're seeking speakers who can present a traditional topic AND lead a discussion circle. You may be an expert on ROI, but what circle can you lead that will let participants see another, more personal side of you? Sessions that qualify for clock hours are valuable to us, but not required. Unique sessions that haven't been seen a million times at other industry conferences are of highest value.

SPEAKER COMPENSATION

Speakers who are selected for one session will receive complimentary conference registration. Two or more sessions, and the speaker will receive registration and lodging. Only the opening and closing keynote speakers will receive an airfare credit of $250. All speakers will receive heavy promotion to our membership of nearly 2,500 senior-level planners across North America, and the visibility at the conference is invaluable with this audience.
