PhD Scholarship Application

The Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) is committed to addressing the Ph.D. shortage in communication sciences and disorders, specifically, the Ph.D. pipeline. To this end, the Council will address a salient factor influencing the Ph.D. pipeline: time to degree completion. CAPCSD announces a scholarship program for Ph.D.* students who are focused on an academic career in communication sciences and disorders. CAPCSD will award up to 10 scholarships of $20,000 plus 2016 CAPCSD Conference registration for each successful scholarship awardee. These scholarships are intended for those students who have advanced to candidacy (ABD). This scholarship program is open to all CAPCSD member programs.

* CAPCSD welcomes applications from students working toward any research doctoral degree, typically that would be a Ph.D.

Frances J. Laven Scholarship Application

Presented in honor of Frances Laven, the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) promotes service by students in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In support of this goal, CAPCSD has agreed to fund a student scholarship to recognize exemplary student service. This award is intended for graduate students in a professional program (AuD or Masters) who have shown exemplary service. Examples of service may include (but are not limited to) community service, service to the department or university, or service to the greater discipline. Award amount: One Annual $5,000 scholarship.

Plural Research Scholarship Application

Presented in honor of Dr. Sadanand Singh, the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) promotes research by students in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In support of this goal, Plural Publishing has generously agreed to fund two scholarship awards that will support graduate student research. There are two award categories: Masters/AuD/SLP Doc level award, intended for masters/AuD/SLP Doc level students who are pursuing research in speech-language pathology or audiology and Doctoral-level award, intended for PhD students who are pursuing research in audiology, speech-language pathology or speech-language-hearing sciences. Award amount: One $3,000 scholarship per award category
