Welcome to the Ontario College of Family Physicians Call for Abstracts
The Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) will host its 55th Annual Scientific Assembly (ASA) on November 23-24, 2017, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Ontario. This two-day educational conference welcomes more than 1,000 delegates, including family physicians, family medicine residents and other primary care providers, to deliver valuable and engaging professional development on a wide range of current and emerging issues in primary care.

We are pleased to welcome submissions and provide the following information, including a downloadable PDF guide, to help answer questions you may have about abstracts and the submission process.

OBJECTIVES FOR ABSTRACTS
THE OCFP 2017 ASA CALL FOR ABSTRACTS IS OPEN FOR THE FOLLOWING PRESENTATION FORMATS:

Rapid Fire: Rapid Fire sessions are 10 minutes in length with 5 minutes for Q&A. These sessions aim to address a specific topic in family medicine. For example, a Rapid Fire session might address What is new in testing for tuberculosis or What are the best practices for assessing suicide risk?
**Based on review by the ASA Planning Committee, certain submissions may be selected for greater consideration at ASA and a submitter may be asked to deliver one-hour presentation.

E-Poster: Offer an opportunity for family practice residents, practising physicians, health-care professionals and others to share their research and/or scholarly projects with the wider family medicine community. Research must be completed or submitted as a “work in progress”.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES
ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION OF ABSTRACTS
Rapid fire abstracts will only be reviewed if submitted online by March 13, 2017. E-poster abstracts will only be reviewed if submitted online by March 31, 2017. Successful submitters will be notified of acceptance in Spring 2017. The abstract submitter will receive all correspondence related to their submission. For submitters who are completing an abstract on behalf of the primary presenter, it is the responsibility of the submitter to inform the primary presenter on all related communication.

ATTENDANCE AND COMPENSATION
Only one presenter will receive complimentary registration to attend the conference on the day of their presentation. For E-Poster presentations, one of the authors must be available to present. Additional presenters and co-presenters will be required to register and pay the appropriate registration fee.

No honorarium is paid for accepted submissions and all presentation related expenses are of the responsibility of the submitter and/or primary presenter.
