Welcome to the submission process for the 2017 AIA Illinois Honor Awards. We are the only awards competition in the nation to focus on projects and people that closely adhere to the AIA’s Principles of Livable Communities. We encourage you to submit your projects and nominate yourself or your peers who have bettered Illinois communities through architecture.
All nominations should arrive electronically before the
deadline of 5 p.m. CST on Friday, March 31 2017.
Submit your nomination today by selecting "Join Now" below.
The AIA Illinois Honor Awards recognize people and projects epitomizing the contributions of the architecture profession, the transformative power of design, and the dedication of individuals to service and excellence. All award winners have positively impacted citizens throughout the state of Illinois by helping create communities in which people are drawn to live and work, and to live healthier and happier.
The Juries
The AIA Illinois President appoints a national Design Jury of three esteemed architecture colleagues. S/he also appoints a national Service Jury, which includes a previous Gold Medal winner, one Past President of the state component and one other architecture colleague or citizen working in a related field. The AIA Illinois President serves as an ex-officio member of both. Decisions of the juries are final. Unless withdrawn by the sponsor nominations that are unsuccessful this year may be resubmitted next year,
without changes, so that they may be reviewed by a subsequent jury. An updated submission will be considered “new” and incur a fee.
