Call for Oral Abstracts, Posters, Breakouts & Small Group Discussion

The theme of the 2017 Annual Meeting is
Medical Education: Wizardry, Innovation and Magic. Medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty are all encouraged to submit an abstract to be considered as Oral or Poster presentation.
Educational topics to use in your submission:
—Future Direction and Paths in Education/IPE
New Frontiers—Global Health, Diversity and Outreach
Avoiding Poison Apples—Challenges in Medical Education, Safety and Quality
Call Home—Staying Connected/Wellness and Burnout
Incredible Superhero in Education—What is your power?
Type of presentations will include breakouts;
small groups (in place of round tables); oral abstracts; and posters.
Become a Big Deal! Awards have been established to encourage research and knowledge dissemination about obstetrics and gynecology. The awards offered at this meeting include:
- Excellence in Educational Research Award for Student and Residents
One $500.00 award for best oral abstract or poster
- Oral Abstract Presentation Awards
Three awards given 1st place $500.00, 2nd place, $300.00, and 3rd place $200.00
- Poster Presentation Awards
Three awards given 1st place $300.00, 2nd place $150.00, and 3rd place $100.00
- APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Recent Alumni Research Award
Two awards given, one for best oral abstract presentation, $500.00, and one for best poster presentation, $300.00, from submissions by graduates of the APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders program between 2012-2016.
- Award for Programs of Exxcellence
One $500.00 award for best oral abstract or poster
for best use of one of the Foundation’s programs, books or courses funded by the Foundation for Exxcellence in Women’s Health Care (http://www.exxcellence.org/)
Abstract Publication
We are pleased to announce that in 2017, selected abstracts will be considered for possible publication in a CREOG & APGO supplement to
Obstetrics & Gynecology. Please note, no changes can be made to the abstract after the submission deadline of August 8, 2016. The opportunity to submit full-length manuscripts for peer review and possible publication in the same supplement will also be offered for abstract and poster presentations. More details will be available on the APGO Web site in the fall of 2016.
APGO Abstract Catalog
The APGO Abstract Catalog is an interactive database of oral and poster abstracts presented at CREOG & APGO Annual Meetings beginning in 2012 that can be used as a resource to determine what has been presented at past meetings. Link to the catalog:

Peer Review
All submissions will be peer reviewed anonymously by members of CREOG and APGO. Indicate on the form the type of presentation your abstract should be considered for, oral abstract (10 min research presentation) Poster Presentation. Or, Breakout Session (1-hour session designed to facilitate an exchange of information, ideas and educational strategies among a large group of participants) or Small group discussion (1-hour session, formally called round tables, designed with the same goals as a breakout session but for a small group of approximately 25 min – no AV provided). Up to forty abstracts will be accepted for oral presentation, the remaining meritorious submissions will be considered for inclusion in the poster sessions.
