Shifting Paradigms in Medical Education
April 19-21, 2018
University of Mississippi Medical Center
Jackson, Mississippi

We invite you to submit proposals for presentations at the 2018 Southern Group on Educational Affairs (SGEA) Annual Meeting from April 19-21, 2018 in Jackson, Mississippi. Proposals may represent original research (either completed or in progress) or innovations in medical education. Abstracts can focus on any level of medical education (UME preclerkship or clerkship, GME, CME, or a combination).

All abstracts must be submitted online no later than 11:59 PM (EST) on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

The conference theme is “Shifting Paradigms in Medical Education” We particularly encourage submissions in one of the following three areas related to this theme: “Changes in Assessment and Education”; “Innovations in Teaching and Assessment”; and “Faculty Career Paths in Medical Education.” However, we welcome all submissions related to medical education. Priority will be given to submissions from SGEA members and submissions involving members from multiple institutions. In order to encourage diverse experiences for our attendees, we will offer a number of submission categories that will represent several types of scholarship opportunities:
We recommend that you prepare your proposal in a word processing application and then paste each component into the corresponding online section. An abstract submission is considered a commitment to attend the meeting and present if accepted and an acknowledgement of the costs associated with travel and meeting registration.
