The International Surface Event East 2015
(TISE East)
We are committed to providing top-notch education to the flooring, stone, and tile industries. The educational content generates discussion and ideas, finds solutions, provides motivation to attendees to succeed both personally and professionally, and helps keep the industry growing and thriving. We are currently seeking presenters with new and innovative ideas and topics for The International Surface Event East to be held fall of 2015. This is your opportunity to share your story, experience, knowledge and skills.

Submissions will be reviewed by the TISE East Advisory Council and be scored on the following criteria:

Quality – The overall quality of the session topic based on the session title, learning objectives, and description provided. Submissions will score a five if the description and learning objectives provide ample information to assess the quality of, and to market the value of the proposal to potential attendees; there is no indication of an attempt to sell products or services and no required fields have been left blank.

Learning Techniques – Addresses the level of engagement that is incorporated into the format of the session so as to create an environment for the audience to be active versus passive learners. This takes learners beyond the traditional lecture, enhancing their experience and knowledge retention. Submissions will score a five if the proposed level of engagement and active learning is extremely high and unique, allowing for a completely new learning experience and the presenter has selected a format that has never been or rarely been presented before at TISE East or other industry event and through their description and learning objectives appears to be incorporating interactive elements to hold learners’ interest for the majority of the session.

Diversity/Uniqueness of Presentation – How the session topic will enhance the overall quality of TISE East by creating an educationally diverse program. Its ability to offer a new or diverse perspective on the topic proposed. Submissions will score a five by offering highly unique content that has not been presented at TISE East, TISE or other industry events before.

Practical Application – Does the session topic address a relevant issue faced by today’s professional and how does the content of the session provide practical solutions to said issue? Submissions will score a five if the topic is likely to be of interest to the majority of conference attendees, can meet at least two of the following criteria: 1) content is very timely, learning can immediately be applied to resolve a common work related issue; 2) content is very relevant, issues discussed are very common in flooring, tile or stone industry; 3) content fills a significant knowledge gap (i.e. flooring, tile or stone professionals cannot find similar content elsewhere); or 4) content will likely be perceived as “must know” by attendees.

Speaker Expertise – How the presenter’s skills and experience will enable him/her to deliver a dynamic session on the topic in question. Submissions will score a five if presenter’s credentials and submitted references demonstrate a very strong topic knowledge through a combination of extensive career experience, speaking experience, significant work history, and publication of articles, blogs, etc.
