The public is invited to submit an abstract to FOCIS 2017. All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the submission site by the appropriate deadlines.

Submission Fees and Deadlines
There is a $30 non-refundable submission fee per abstract. The submission fee is waived for presenting authors who are FOCIS members. Abstract submission fees will not be refunded to presenting authors who join the FOCIS membership after submitting an abstract. Only the presenting author should submit abstracts.

The late-breaking abstract deadline is Friday, April 7, 2017, 11:59 p.m. ET . Abstracts submitted during the late-breaking submission (after January 30) are eligible for poster presentation only. Abstracts submitted before January 30 will be considered for oral or poster presentation.

Submission Guidelines and Instructions
Presenting authors must submit the abstract and must be prepared to present the abstract at FOCIS 2017 should it be accepted. Posters will not be allowed without an accompanying presenter.

All presenting authors must submit a completed disclosure form. This policy has been established in cooperation with ACCME guidelines. If a disclosure form is not submitted by the presenting author by the submission deadline, the abstract may be withdrawn.

During abstract submission, presenting authors may indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation format.

Graphic elements, such as charts, pictures, etc., should not be included in abstract submission and will not be considered.

Please review your submission carefully. No revisions, including author revisions and/or new data, will be accepted after the deadline.

Abstract Review Process and Placement
Each abstract is blinded and peer-reviewed by three members of the Abstract Review Committee. Authors must choose one subject area and one FOCIS pillar during online submission.

The Abstract Review Committee has sole discretion regarding placement of abstracts within the FOCIS 2017 program. Abstracts are considered for either oral or poster presentation.

Oral presentations are placed into the FOCIS 2017 program on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday afternoon. Oral presentations are allotted a maximum of 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for presentation and an additional 5 minutes allotted for questions and discussion.

Poster presentations are scheduled into poster sessions held on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday evening, beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Notification and Registration
Abstract acceptance and rejection notifications will be sent the week of March 13 to the presenting author who submitted abstracts to FOCIS 2017 prior to the January 25 January 30 deadline. Presenting authors must register to attend FOCIS 2017 by April 7, 2017, for the abstract to be included in the abstract supplement and scheduled into the program.

Late-breaking abstract presenting authors will be notified the week of April 14. Presenting authors of late-breaking abstracts must register to attend FOCIS 2017 by April 28, 2017, for the abstract to be included in the abstract supplement and scheduled into the program.

Withdrawals
Withdrawals of abstracts must be received in writing before April 7, 2017. If the presenting author of an accepted abstract is not registered by April 7, 2017, the abstract will be withdrawn, and will not be included in the final program or abstract supplement.

Travel Awards
Travel awards are available to FOCIS members only who submit an abstract and are chosen for oral presentation at FOCIS 2017. The number and amount of the awards is based upon several factors including geographic location, placement of abstract within the FOCIS program and funds available.

Per the FOCIS Travel Award Reimbursement Policy, all receipts submitted for reimbursement must be itemized.

Registration expenses and poster printing are not eligible expenses for reimbursement.
